Tesla Climate Keeper Unavailable Due To System Fault

If you’re a proud owner of a Tesla and have encountered the frustrating message “Climate Keeper Unavailable Due to System Fault,” don’t worry; you’re not alone. This error message can sometimes persist despite your best efforts. However, fear not, as there are steps you can take to resolve this issue and get your Tesla back in top shape. As a Tesla technician I will clarify this common problem for you.

Firstly, it’s essential to understand the two types of reboots Tesla recommends for situations like these: the “soft reboot” and the “hard reboot.” The soft reboot is what you may have already attempted, but if that didn’t work, it’s time to consider a hard reboot, which can often clear stubborn error messages like the one you’re facing.

Here are the steps to perform a hard reboot on your Tesla:

  1. Turn off the Climate Control System.
  2. Fully open the driver’s window to prevent accidental lockouts.
  3. Open the frunk.
  4. Turn off the car.
  5. Inside the frunk, remove the top panel (the one with the windshield wiper fluid cap).
  6. Using a 10mm socket wrench, disconnect the 12V Battery terminal and isolate it from the post.
  7. Open the passenger side of the back door.
  8. Fasten all the backseat seat belts to prevent them from getting tangled.
  9. Release the clips holding the seats down by swiping your hand under the seats; lift the seats.
  10. Remove the foam cover for the wire harness.
  11. Disconnect the wire harness and unplug it (you’ll hear a noise from the main contactors).
  12. Wait for at least 2-5 minutes.
  13. Reverse the steps to reassemble everything in the correct order.

If the hard reset doesn’t resolve the issue, try these additional steps:

  1. Disconnect anything plugged into your Tesla’s USB port, as corrupted files can interfere with the reboot process.
  1. Turn off Bluetooth on your phone during the reboot, as a corrupted contact may cause connectivity issues.
  1. Clear data from your trip computers and remove some saved locations from memory.
  1. If these steps don’t work, contact Tesla’s service center for further assistance or to schedule a service appointment.

If all else fails, you can also reach out to Tesla Roadside Assistance at 0800-005-431 for remote access to your car, which may help resolve the issue.

Remember, performing these steps carefully and following Tesla’s recommendations can help you troubleshoot and resolve the “Climate Keeper Unavailable” error, ensuring your Tesla runs smoothly once again.
